Overview
I sat in Lit&Reg for the first two weeks, then in Corporate for the last. In Lit&Reg I did a mixture of different tasks, from research to admin. It was an exciting time to be on the team due to a high profile case, and getting to attend court was undoubtedly a highlight. My time in Corporate was also enjoyable, helping draft and proof read affidavits.
Skills
I have learnt a lot about the day-to-day workings of a law firm. I have improved my research and writing skills.
Business Insight
I found everyone in the DLA Dublin office to be extremely friendly and helpful, always willing to answer questions and lend a hand. Meeting different people in the firm and learning about what they do each day was incredibly interesting.
Culture
Excellent. The open plan office made the atmosphere in the office fun and comfortable. There were many events on during my time in the office, which all got involved in.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at DLA, I was given interesting and engaging work, but never overloaded or felt under extreme pressure. It was great to interact with people of all levels of the firm, from trainees to partners.
Yes
They are a business law firm, so have a commercial mindset. Be friendly and willing to network.
