    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I analyse data daily to spot trends and patterns in sales and then take actions based on what I've identified. I yield manage and manipulate prices in order to maximise profit the business makes out of the product we sell to customers. We are very customer focused and make sure they're experience booking is good and they get what they want for their holiday.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learnt so many new skills. I've learnt how to analyse data and sales correctly in order to problem solve. I have learnt how to conduct myself in a professional setting like how to write appropriate emails, office conduct etc, and also how to put myself out there more in terms of signing up for projects, taking the lead etc. I have also gained loads of confidence presenting.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Absolutely. we have the same role as anyone else who has a job in the company which I didn't expect from my placement year. my workload is exactly the same as others, and I have just as much power and responsibility. the actions I take in my job can be seen by the thousands of customers at TUI daily, and I cna make those decisions by myself and have a direct effect in the company.

  • loads. everyone is extremely helpful and always there to help with any question. everyone always offered to sit down and talk through things with me, I felt very supported and encouraged to do well.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • amazing. I love coming into the office as everyone is so friendly and the team gets on so well. we always have good chats, socials outside the office, and even when working from home we all have regular meetings allowing us to get to know each other personally as well as working well as a team virtually. when I leave I am definitely going to miss the people the most.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I would rate my enjoyment of my placement year a 10/10. It was more than I expected. It was great to learn something new and do the job role of something I never knew existed, Its been great to gain knowledge of all areas of the business, to meet lots of friends and to experience all the opportunities we get given. I feel very lucky to have had a placement here.

  • Be yourself. all of the training needed you get when you start, so interviews and assessment days etc are more about what kind of person you are and how well you will fit into the team and the wider business.
