Overview
Each day we were presented with new tasks to work on. The tasks included research, presentations and general administrative work.
Skills
I have developed an array of new skills. This includes the ability to communicate in a professional environment; managing my time and presenting ideas within a group.
Business Insight
It was a very insightful and realistic presentation of how the different roles within the business operate.
Culture
The culture has been very friendly and warm. Everyone is hugely to down to earth and willing to give a spare moment to talk through the things their passionate about or law in general.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed the programme as it has provided a friendly and insightful understanding of DLA Piper. The early careers team are very hands on and always willing to help and the various lawyers in each office are incredibly friendly, helpful and easy to talk to.
Yes
Be authentic as the current lawyers within the firm are very passionate about allowing others to be themselves in an honest and genuine way. Do not be afraid to ask people to talk about things you may be uncertain about and definitely share and make others aware of your legal interests. If lawyers in your group know you are interested in a specific topic or issue they actively will try to get you involved.
