The Role
I was fully integrated into the department from day one, and felt valued even when doing the smallest or simplest of tasks. By the second week of the two-week placement I was given harder work to do, which was great as it was a challenge.
I was fully integrated into the department from day one, and felt valued even when doing the smallest or simplest of tasks. By the second week of the two-week placement I was given harder work to do, which was great as it was a challenge.
I felt like I could ask even the smallest of questions, although I was not spoon-fed and was given independence.
Very busy, but as I am used to wokring in a busy office-environment I was able to delegate and time manage to get the best out of my time at the firm.
Much of what I did was only in draft form, but I felt that I was given responsibity in the tasks I was asked to do.
Everything I have learnt about the way in which a law firm operates will be invaluable in my future career. I feel more fully equipped to answer questions in an interview based on my experiences here.
The Company
The atmosphere was busy and serious when it needed to be, but also very interactive and fun - the time flew by!
Every stage of the placement was planned and the supervisors had obviously been well briefed and gave us lots of work to do.
They took time to interview us ans assess us, and included talks from every department to give us an idea of the firm as a whole, not just the snapshot of the department we worked in.
Have an interview, but competition is fierce in the current climate.
The Culture
The trainees organised events and there were lunches etc. The firm is committed to Corporate Responsibity which helps this also.
