Overview
I was involved in drafting chronologies, timetabling events before trials, research tasks, and billing for clients. I also attended lots of socials, including lunches, coffees, and the summer party!
Skills
I learned lots of skills from working on tasks I had never done before. For example, there are certain formats to follow when writing memos and calculating dates prior to the trial. There were different written procedures I learned to follow.
Business Insight
I got a holistic overview of the firm and its various departments. It was very insightful to learn what potential seats I would be able to sit in as a trainee. I also learned all about the qualification process as an NQ, and development opportunities (such as the Global Associate Program, where you can work at another global Clyde's office for a week).
Culture
Everyone was very friendly and open to career conversations. It was really easy to reach out to anyone (whether they be a trainee or an associate) for a coffee chat. My supervisor and trainee buddy were always around to provide a helping hand.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the scheme! The firm environment and culture was so easy to be in. It was also an amazing opportunity to network and make long-lasting professional connections.
Yes
Just be yourself and try not to make your interview answers sound too robotic. The culture is relaxed and personable, so just try and be yourself
