Overview
We sat with our supervisors. for the bulk of the day, working on research tasks. The rest of the day was filled with coffees with trainees and informational sessions as well as networking lunches on most days. The scheme culminated with an interview and closing dinner.
Skills
I’ve developed my ability to work to a deadline, respond to feedback, draft a legal document and advocate for myself confidently. I leave the scheme much more confident in my passion for the legal profession and my ability to do the tasks of a trainee when I do start a training contract.
Business Insight
Very interesting - I felt that there was no question that was out of bounds. Everyone I talked to was very enthusiastic and open to talk about anything.
Culture
Very friendly - everyone was happy to chat and even go for a coffee if I wanted. There is no doubt that Latham has a uniquely supportive culture.
Your Impressions
Very much so - we had talks on basically every practice area so no stone was left unturned. It was nice because the research then supplemented those skills.

Be clear in the reasons why you want Latham; it is a firm that thrives on culture and so this is very important
