    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Working across various brands for Paid Social for social media always-on ads and Paid Search activations on Google as well as E-retailers. The day-to-day includes briefing in various projects both internally and externally, working closely with brand teams to support their launches and campaigns, analysing data from our activations.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Strongly developed my communication skills and managerial skills. Learnt about media metrics and developed the skill to analyse this detail to provide insights to the division. Developed a strong understanding of the technicalities behind paid search activations.

  • L'Oreal give interns a lot of responsibility and freedom in leading projects. This allows us to really grow and develop, whilst gaining invaluable experience that you may not be able to get in other companies.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • My team was incredibly supportive, shared regular feedback to ensure development throughout the placement year and were always encouraging me to ask questions. They also promoted the idea that making a mistake is part of the job and what is more important is how you tackle the problem and learn from this.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very friendly culture where building connections is very easy. Flexible working which is ever important in a hybrid world. A lot of opportunities to grow and learn from peers.

  • I thouroughly enjoyed my placement year thanks to my team, other interns, as well as the opportunities to really grow in confidence in an unknown field for me. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to work at a global company, in an industry that I am very interested in.

  • L'Oreal are very big on personalities as you will have to work with a variety of people. Be confident in yourself and what you have to offer, even with little to no experience, it is what you bring to the team as a person that will set you apart.
