Overview
Assistant Product Manager for LCVs and Conversions: Involves competitor comparisons, conversions monthly reports, looking at technical specification for vehicles, applying for insurance and government grants, inputting product information, updating pricing, answering customer queries, meetings with dealers, writing and editing brochures and web pages, organising and following up on converter assessments, overseeing NDAs (sending out and receiving, taking on the role of witness signatory).
Skills
- Enhancing computer skills: learning new formulas, conditional formatting, etc on Excel when building spreadsheets, graphs, pivots and tables - Time management skills: understanding the importance of prioritising and creating appropriate time slots for each task. - Working under pressure: learning to cope with a heavy workload and how to manage and complete tasks efficiently - Professionalism: handling situations in a professional manner, improving written language when sending emails and messages in a workplace, improving verbal skills when in meetings and conversing with senior managers/directors/customers. - Product knowledge: being able to talk to customers about the vehicles’ technical information and spec/features. - Initiative: trusting my own ability and knowledge to be able to answer queries with confidence.
Responsibilities
- Attending committee meetings with multiple members of the board – learning about the chain of command and decision-making process - Visited warehouses to see the products I’m working on – helped to understand parts and components that I see in spreadsheets everyday, come to life - Excel training to improve excel skills - Attended presentations by each department to fully understand each job role and its input to the company, who to contact for different questions - 2 week handover period to learn everything I needed to know – in depth training for 10 days made me feel more comfortable and ready to take over the role - Product familiarisation day at the office – bringing all the vehicles to the office for us to sit in and explore - Joined diversity and inclusion group - Starting a green team with the interns - Visited goodwood and created a presentation about it which we presented to the board of directors - Interns created a list of marketing strategies which was sent to the directors - Meeting scheduled for interns to present to each other about their job role and what we do so we can learn more about it and improve presentation skills

Very high level of support from my team and other employees. All coworkers are constantly happy to help and support when needed. very understanding whilst also trusting me with responsibilities
Culture
Everyone is friendly and happy to help. Quite a fun, friendly, casual workplace and culture, makes you feel at ease, whilst at the same time everyone is incredibly hardworking and i still felt positively pushed to achieve goals and deadlines.
Your Impressions
i enjoyed it thoroughly, learned and enhanced many skills and gave me confidence to be able to go into a grad role with a bit of an understanding on what to expect in a workplace

You don't need to love cars to apply for jobs in the automotive industry, you do need to be eager and willing to learn excel skills.
