    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Renting vehicles, greeting and checking in customers to their assigned vehicle, providing courtesy car vehicles for breakdown customers/customers who send their own vehicle in for repairs. Connecting with new businesses to create new corporate accounts, which helps the growth of the business. Delivering and collecting vehicles from corporate accounts.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have improved my time management skills as we need to be on time to deliver/collect customers cars as well as during the day to get tasks done on time. I have improved on my customer service skills as we are interacting with customers all day, so having a smile on your face and some positive words go a long way! This makes the day run smoother and happier. I have also learnt how to multi-task better and prioritize tasks given to me, and I am able to complete the tasks to a high standard more times than not.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • We had different aspects of the business split up between all our colleagues and we had to take control of that, such as growth, and these had to be updated regularly and monitored in branch as well as for the area. We then rotated these roles, so we got to experience and understand all roles well.
