Overview
I run reports, create orders and manage the production and communication of Turbo components to the assembly line. i check against shortages so that the turbos planned in have clear stock of parts. i also deal with any replanning of turbos that have failed or have damaged parts etc.
Skills
i have gained more excel based knowledge. i have increased my confidence and people skills. i have increased my critical thinking by solving problems that arise.
Responsibilities
yes. almost too much responsibility. i was responsible for covering colleagues from an early stage where no one else would know how to complete the job. my knowledge was relied upon heavily.
Support & Guidance
my team members and friends i made within the company have provided great support. reviews and managerial support were less apparent. possibly due to getting a new manager half way through my placement.
Culture
to begin with the morale was up and everyone enjoyed what they were doing however the atmosphere grew more toxic and it felt like the external teams were all against each other trying to meet plant staff demands.
Your Impressions
I did enjoy my placement, i have made great friends and learnt a lot about myself and learnt new skills. i have found at times i felt stressed and overwhelmed. however it can be rewarding when things go well.
Yes
Be yourself, don't be afraid to show off your skills and be confident
