Overview
A Research and development role to help as part of a larger team to solve problems in new technologies. I then made and tested them day to day. This included a larger year long project- with other smaller interesting projects from coworkers.
Skills
I have developed so many skills including but not limited to: time management, presenting to different audiences (Technical coworkers and senior management), my networking ability within factory floor workers and other teams, coaching ability, problem solving approaches, my technical knowledge and time management between different projects.
Responsibilities
I led a project and the decisions that went on with it along with all the hands on testing, analysing the results and reporting back all by myself
Support & Guidance
Everyone there was lovely and friendly and easy to talk to, with everyone willing to talk to me about everything from career advice and technical knowledge to personal problems. On the actual structure side, I didn't particularly get much direct feedback on how I was performing as an individual within the business due to my managers being busy
Culture
Super friendly and approachable. Everything is not stressful with not overwhelming pressure with lots of support mechanisms to ease mental health and personal well being with people passionate in many different things and willing to share on hobbies such as running, baking, board games and the gym
Your Impressions
I absolutely loved it with a wide array of valuable training and life experiences as well as a large community of interns (20+) that all got on well all while being in different departments but in similar positions. I also enjoyed the interesting variety of work that I was involved in and the other extracurricular activities I was involved in
Yes
Go for it, lots of great people in a very inclusive environment filled with a lot of people going through similar experiences as you. Personally, Find the best department for you and ask different people about different roles and see what you like
