The Role
There are aspects of the job that I don't enjoy as much as others. However, the people are fantastic and if I ever need help with anything, I can ask my managers.
As stated previously, the people at Hays have really made my placement. The director ensures that everyone is included in the incentives and good work is rewarded regularly. I will really miss the people at Hays, London Victoria.
Although managerial strategies differ, the monthly sales plans ensure that you have regular meetings with your manager and this gives the opportunity to discuss any issues. Again, if I have any queries, they're always happy to help.
There have been times that I have been incredibly busy which is stressful. However, this is usually balanced out with some quieter days and the team are always happy to help out.
I have run 2 desks throughout my placement - one was completely handed over to me which was a lot of responsibility but gave me such an opportunity to pick up new skills.
Everything I have done throughout placement can be adapted to university and future job interviews/my career. The main thing I have gained are organisational skills and this is essential for any job.
The Company
Working in a sales environment is vibrant and definitely motivational. Although this wouldn't normally be my chosen working environment, I have enjoyed this aspect and find that everyone keeps me motivated.
There have been times throughout my placement where I am unsure which desk I am taking on and how to work with the database etc. Although I was happy to be thrown onto a desk because it enabled me to learn quickly, I did make some mistakes which could have been avoided. However, the skills I have gained and the fact I managed to work through this has been a confidence boost.
Hays have tried a new training technique which I was fortunate enough to be included on. This helped me to ease into the process and over the first 4 months there were several training sessions at different times so you could pick something new up each time.

Company Parties/Events
I definitely wouldn't turn a job down from Hays as I have really enjoyed my placement here. However, I wouldn't rule out other grad schemes altogether.
The Culture
The incentives at Hays Victoria are brilliant. The director makes a point of rewarding us with nights out when big targets are hit and this keeps motivation up. It's also great to get to know colleagues from various different floors.
I lived at home so living expenses were OK. However, I did have to pay £4,000 for a train ticket and London nights out are expensive! Once you get to know where the happy hours are though, it's brilliant.
London is amazing. Can go anywhere and do anything whenever you like. Love it
We have a Social Engagement Team who offer pub quizzes, netball nights, football nights etc. Hays Victoria have a great social aspect and this is really important because the days are long and it's nice to have this to look forward to.
