Summer Vacation Student Review

There is a choice to work from home or in-office where you are placed on a particular team working on different client engagements and speak to a manager who gives you work. The work ranges from using templates to draft letters, complete sampling and testing on Excel as well as research the client themselves.

I have learned about particular Excel tools that Deloitte uses, as well as how to navigate audit platforms containing all the files. I have also gone over writing meeting minutes and transcribing important information.

It was very clear about the opportunities and career path at Deloitte, as well as the qualifications that Deloitte requires employees to do in different business units. This was communicated through weekly talks from the early careers team and by speaking to people in the office.

I loved the culture at Deloitte. I definitely felt welcome and everyone was willing to help and answer questions.

I would recommend getting an email address of someone on the early experience team early in the application process if you are an international student. This is because the onboarding process is very impersonal and long which can mean that it becomes stressful when booking flights and accommodation. I would also recommend being very proactive in your approach to asking for work, because work is not handed to you constantly.
