Overview
Every day we would begin with a light breakfast where we would then at around 8.30-9am would get a breifing about what would happen that day. We would then complete a various amount of lectures, events and networking which would give us a good grasp of what it would be like working for them as a company.
Skills
I have learned key parts of teamworking, such as everyone has different skills and its not just about their coding ability.
Business Insight
During the networking we got to meet with senior leadership where we got to have almost 1 on 1 chats with them. This allowed us to get to see how they progressed in their careers. We also got to have group sessions with the year placement interns who showed us around their new glasgow office and also told us about their experience so far at the company.
Culture
From what we got presented to us we got to see a good work life balance. Where the teams in the company truely bond by doing activities together. All of the people who worked there were very friendly and no question was a silly question.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the insight week, so much so I have been considering changing degrees from a masters to a bachelor to start working at companies a year earlier, because now i believe the experiences from work is better than the extra year of education.
Yes
For the spring insight week I would say network as much as you can - the experience from this opportunity is invaluable.
