    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • As an auditor, my daily tasks would involve processing and reviewing financial statements. This includes conducting pre-dispatch checks, examining creditor and debtor accounts, and testing trial balances. I ensure that prepayments, wages, and all transactions have a clear financial trail. If any discrepancies arise, I communicate with clients and request evidence to support the transactions. Additionally, I manage client relationships and address any mistakes or errors that we identify during the audit process

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Over the course of my internship, I’ve not only honed my time management, organizational, and communication skills, but my attention to detail, patience, and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues have also significantly improved during audit engagements. Additionally, I’ve become proficient in using Excel, especially in conjunction with the data snipper software—a tool I hadn’t encountered before.
