Overview
I have two projects that i am working on along side completing any team work set to me. Which involves doing checks on others work making sure there isn't any errors and compiling lists of names from numbers for others not on the team
Skills
I have developed a strong foundation in excel and power BI. Using VBA code in excel as well as general formula work to further bolster my skills
Responsibilities
I was given the responsibility to work on some larger accounts and firms doing general work for the team. I wasn't given full responsibility as that work lay with the fully trained actuaries.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of support and guidance directly from my line manager. Also i had the chance to meet people working in every aspect and position level in the business including the CEO which gave me valuable insight into the entire business
Culture
The culture was very welcoming and friendly. Everyone would make time for you if you wanted to speak to them. There was a little bit of distaste for the current ongoings in the office as there was a recent office move
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my internship very much as it gave me the chance to experience the industry from the inside and see what an actuary does day to day as well as the future career paths that I can pursue
Yes
Be yourself and try round yourself out as much as possible in all aspects of work life. This involves trying lots of new skills and making sure you can be a person that people enjoy talking to and spending time with
