  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • enjoyable placement, team I worked within were all very freindly and willing to offer guidence.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Felt welcomed into the team, I was given a reasonable level of responsibility and taken to meet clients.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • all memebers of the team were ready to answer questions and the managers were both available to offer guidence. In generally all levels of the team were very approachable.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • the work load varied on a daily basis depending on what work the team had, at no point was i overloaded with work. Generally i always had work to do on a daily basis, some days were slow.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a reasonable level of responsibilty on a regular basis varying from client interaction to helping on inspections and writing aspects of valuation reports.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Overall I have learnt some keys skills such as professional report writing and the process of valuations as well as new valuation techniques all of which will be very useful in my future placements and studies.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Atmosphere was good very sociable and friendly atsmosphere, a good laugh was had every day at the characters in the team.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • In general the organisation was good, but more work could have bneen prepared in advance for me to get on with. all other aspects were well organised the interaction with other team and directors was really helpful. the end assesment was also very useful reflection.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was invited to join a few of the training seminars and was taught as neccessary to use the software required for the job, these skills will be very useful in future.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing prospect, enjoyed working within this sector of valuation, not something I had considered previously. The working environment is another fact thqat would lead me to consider the company in future.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Good social atmosphere within the team I was working in, not so much with other placement students but seen as there were only 2 of us was always going to be limited, I imagine in the main london office the social side would have been emphasised more.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Socialising prices in Oxford are reasonable not to the london levels

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife was fair for the Oxford area, some good places to go.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I was invited to join the company netball team which was a good way of interacting with people from other offices and departments.
