    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • The best thing about the role is every day is so different with all the interactions you have with each and every customer. On a general day you’ll spend time in the office with includes admin, sales and lots of customer interactions. The other time is spent on the road delivering and collecting vehicles which allows the day to be broken up and makes the time fly by

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Key skills in which I’ve developed over the year include: confidence with all the customer interaction and calls that are made on a daily basis which really helps with my future professional career. Another includes building up my professional network so on return to university I have still got key contacts within the field to reach back out to whenever I need some guidance

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • My main two focuses over the course of the year for myself within the internship were sales and BCM (branch claims manager). With BCM it allowed us to focus in on reducing claims that are raised on each car that sits on our fleet through shopping them with garages and ensuring the vehicles are on site to cause 0 delays.

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I could not fault the support that I received from the whole team. Each month I would have a 1:1 with my branch manager to discuss what I could improve on to develop my professional career.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • There was always a lot of banter in my branch which was one of my favourite parts about the culture as it allows the day to pass by really quickly and also creates a great culture for the customers to walk into and join in the conversations constantly going on

  • One major piece of advice I would give is get stuck into everything as this is best way you will make the most of everything and throughly enjoy it. Through doing this you will put yourself in a great place to go for graduate jobs soon finishing uni and potentially back at the same company
