Overview
I was assigned to a team within the Bristol office. I was given a variety of tasks that I had help to complete. I went on site visits, met clients and wrote reports. I also sat in on team meetings and attended social events. It was a great glimpse into what a career in commercial surveying might look like.
Skills
I have strengthened my valuation skills, which will help me in my final year of university. I learnt how to survey different properties and write up reports on them. I have also learnt a vast amount of technical terminology and how this used on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
I felt a was given a good amount of responsibility. As I was given tasks that I could complete on my own but then my work was reviewed by my line manager. I also felt there was no pressure on me to have to present work that was at my colleagues level, as they were sympathetic to the fact I was only an intern.
Support & Guidance
I was given lots of support during my internship, I had a buddy, line manager and then 75% of the office was supportive and approachable. They were always willing to help on areas I didn't understand.
Culture
I felt valued, listened to and a part of the team when I was at Cushman & Wakefield. The culture was brilliant. It was expected that peopled delivered good quality work but there was no body looking over your shoulder or putting pressure on you. They also looked to support and help one another.
Your Impressions
I throughly enjoyed my internship, out of the 4 internships I have partaken in, this has been the most interesting and fun.
