Overview
Day to day you are greeting customers as they enter the branch, checking them into their vehicle while making them aware of how they are protected in the vehicle giving you a chance to practice your sales. You're not only in the office you will be sent on missions to deliver vehicles to corporate accounts. Other tasks in the office include managing your corporate accounts and looking for oppurtunities to grow the branch.
Skills
New skills i have learnt include Sales, communicating proffessionally, account management. Existing skills i have developed include customer service skills, dealing with difficult customers, time management and working within a team.
Responsibilities
Yes you are given responsibilities in various areas of the business. These include Sales and service ensuring standards are met and targets are achieved such as service score for the branch. Another area is risk which looks at managing aspects such as damage done to cars ensuring they are shopped when necessary. Finally, Business growth is an area that looks at what areas can you reap more rewards to make more money for the branch.
Support & Guidance
Throughout the placement you can find support from all over the company. This includes your branch manager, assistant manager, area manager and you can always reach out to colleagues in other branches. Additionally, the Hr department reach out to you so if you need to talk to anyone outside of your immediate workplace they are there.
Culture
Very upbeat and everyone is looking to constantly improve. Good atmosphere of teamwork so that together you all grow the branch. More specifically with sales everyone pushes eachother so that you can reach your highest potential
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed my placement. The people you work with was the biggest factor for me and you definitely develop friendships rather than colleagues.
Yes
Ensure you are a driven purpose that when you go into a job you are looking to make a difference. Make sure you are aware of the hours which are slightly longer than many other placements so be aware oif this so that you are ready to tackle the placement.
