Overview
My role involves working with different distributors across Europe and helping them with shipment inquiries, setting targets and how to take approach to difficult situations etc. My day-to-day activities involve: - Sending out shipping schedules - Keeping our forecast file updated - Working with MARS system to upload invoice and forecast figures - Communicating colour fixes and Tanki orders between distributors and supply team - Organizing monthly meetings with distributors - Arranging transport of units from branches to distributors
Skills
I have been able to massively develop my Microsoft excel skills by working with pivot tables and a range of different shortcuts and formulas in my day-to-day tasks. My organisation skills have also improved and so has my way of writing emails in a formal manner. I also have been working on my time management as I can now meet deadlines well.
Responsibilities
During the start of my placement, I was given a lot of responsibilities due to my team member leaving and my manager being new to the company, so he didn't know much. But this helped me deal with uncertain situations and made me work even harder. After halfway through my placement, my responsibilities have gotten easier as we have recruited a new team member.
Support & Guidance
I received a good amount, but I could've received a bit more as my team was initially a bit unorganized and I didn't receive a personal development plan and target. Later on, people around my department really helped me, which helped me succeed.
Culture
My department was very diverse with many different backgrounds and cultures. Everyone was very friendly and willing to help which was really supportive
