Overview
Throughout the year, I rotated around 10 different teams within the Marketing department. I took on an assistant level role within each team in order to practically learn from colleagues. The teams included; Customer and Trade Planning, Website Content, PR and Influencer, Social Media, CRM Email and App, Loyalty and Rewards, Research and Insights, Paid Media, Affiliates, Brand Media and SEO.
Skills
I've gained many industry specific skills that I would not have been able to learn from University alone and seen first-hand the processes needed for many teams to collaborate and execute a successful marketing campaign. The placement has also been highly beneficial for some more personal skills such as self-confidence and understanding team work and communication within an office environment.
Responsibilities
Yes, where appropriate, I took on tasks that were customer facing (eg. posting on social media or sending app pushes) that took responsibility to ensure content was up to the standard needed for customers to see.
Support & Guidance
The support throughout was great - I had bi-weekly catch ups with my manager to discuss my progress and any issues I may have had. We also had HR catch ups and master class sessions designed to develop our skills.
Culture
Overall, the office culture and atmosphere is positive. I personally have never had any issues with other colleagues and the office itself is a nice modern building.

I really enjoyed my placement. I am really grateful to have gained such valuable skills and use them for my final year of university and my career post graduation.
