Overview
On a day to day basis, I am learning skills on data camp such SQL coding and the use of Tableau dashboards. I attend group meetings to understand my area of the business. I analyse data and put together the findings on a Tableau dashboard and work with my group on our business group project.
Skills
I have learnt how to use Tableau which is a new skill for me. I have also had time to refresh and work on my SQL coding skills. My teamworking and networking skills have also improved and my commercial awareness of the bank as a whole has increased.
Responsibilities
I have been given a dataset to analyse which is data that the team haven't had chance to have a look at, this really makes me feel part of the team as I will be presenting new insights to the whole team.
Support & Guidance
I have had lots of support from line managers, other staff and interns. The support is amazing versus other jobs I have had in the past. People genuinely care and want the interns to fit in and achieve.
Culture
The company culture is amazing they want people to be curious and to ask questions and in the past I have often been criticised for doing this, at NatWest this is actively encouraged and I feel I can actually be myself, ask questions and learn from the responses.
Your Impressions
I have greatly enjoyed the internship experience and I just want to stay rather than going back to finish my degree. I actually looked forward to going to work! Hopefully I will get offered a place on a graduate scheme and then I can stay for longer.
Yes
I think be yourself and look at the CPCs, if these match your personality then you will definitely be a fit within NatWest as they truly live by the CPCs and the purpose of the bank in all that they do.
