Overview
Completing compliance projects for clients, shadowing Partners on projects, providing research to complement Advisory projects all provide opportunities to apply financial advisory knowledge for all tax related queries and projects. Working with talented people, for large international co-operations is insightful of the global economy Deloitte operates in.
Skills
Deloitte requires communication and networking. Within a large organisation, utilising your proactivity is essential to form new connections, find opportunities to join new projects and ultimately embrace your growth mindset to take on new, demanding challenges.
Responsibilities
Far more responsibility than expected. Presenting client led research to Consultants and Directors gives you the opportunity to conduct end-to-end work which makes a real impact to Deloitte's operations.
Support & Guidance
So much support! You are assigned a Buddy, a People Leader and a Partner to shadow who all provide key networks of support. Beyond this you have a Bay, these 5/6 people work within your team and give you opportunities for exposure. Lastly, the camaraderie between grades such as analysts and consultants is impactful, so the sense of community is excellent.
Culture
As cliche as it is, the people really do make Deloitte. The culture is empowering, and the atmosphere is one where a growth mindset is required. Take all opportunities that are given to you, and you will develop.
Your Impressions
Brilliant - the opportunity to work with such a welcoming company which knows human capital is it's advantage, really makes use of investing in its employees. To work with all of these sharp and friendly colleagues for 4-6 weeks is invaluable. Improve both your corporate knowledge and soft skills, and Deloitte will invest in you!
Yes
Get to know the firm - learn its values and learn what the employees do day to day... as this can cause a few to slip up! It is a people's firm which requires communication and putting yourself out there. Take the risks presented to you, and deliver everything to the best of your ability. Crucially, adopting a growth mindset is key. Good luck!
