Overview
I worked on a variety of tasks across the Corporate Technology and Life Science team and the Patents team in both London and Cambridge. This included research tasks, editing and updating documents, proof reading and attending client calls. The early talent team additionally organised ‘focus on’ sessions into each of the different practice areas.
Skills
I took part in lots of tasks which developed my legal knowledge. Coming from a non-law background, I also learnt how to conduct and present legal research to an expert audience. I also developed my teamwork and presentation skills as part of the assessed task.
Business Insight
We were encouraged to speak to everyone across the firm, from trainees to partners, so I got a great insight into all the roles and practice areas across the firm. This was further supported through the assessed task and ‘focus on’ sessions.
Culture
Everyone was very welcoming, supportive and willing to chat about their work, path into law and their experience of the firm. The talent team were consistently supportive and happy to answer any questions. My supervisors were great and the trainees helped anywhere I had questions.
