The Role
The whole experience was absolutely fantastic!
As soon as I arrrived, I instantly felt part of the team.
On my first day, my supervisor arranged a meeting with me to find out a little bit about my background, my interests and why I wish to pursue a career as a solicitor. My supervisor genuinely appeared interested in everything that I had to say and made me feel welcome right from the start.
Across the department there was so much work to be getting on that everyone was looking for help with their workload; therefore, I was always busy (and pleased to be!).
The kind of work that I was partaking in was exactly the same as what the firm's trainees have to do on a daily basis.
Just being in the business arena, day-in-day-out, means that you pick up valuable skills with regards to teamwork, attention to detail, and, most importantly, commercial awareness.
The Company
Fantastic! As cliched as it sounds, everyone did actually walk around with a smile on their face.
From start to finish, the structure of the placement was perfect.
The whole process appeared to be a learning curve for your future career with the firm.

Company Parties/Events
Although the firm recruit the vast majority of their future employees from their summer placement programmes, currently, I am still none the wiser as to whether they wish to employ me long-term.
The Culture
From drinks to social outings, from meals to a city-centre treasure hunt, there was always something going on for me to get involved in.
Although I commuted to and from work on a daily basis, I have lived in the city before and it is a reasonably inexpensive place to call home.
In Leeds, there is something for everyone. No matter what your tastes may be, you will always be able to find a place to accomodate them.
From drinks to social outings, from meals to a city-centre treasure hunt, there was always something going on for me to get involved in.
