Overview
I worked in the Development Viability team. Day to day work has included preparing comparables, writing up financial viability assessments, carrying out research to provide context for Section 106 and CIL negotiations, as well as the interpretation and analysis of appraisals. I have also been working through the Graduate Pack, learning about the process of a financial viability assessment including discounted cash flow appraisals, using ARGUS and sensitivity analysis. as well as research tasks
Skills
New skills learnt include using ARGUS, learning how to select and utilise suitable comparables for different projects, using a discounted cash flow model in excel, carrying out appropriate research to be used in a section 106 negotiation and interpreting a financial viability appraisal. I have also developed my use of Microsoft Office, particularly excel, and have become familiar with the use of teams in an office environment.
Responsibilities
Largely yes, the most of which came from writing up a financial viability report which was to be sent to a client.
Support & Guidance
A lot, my team have always been on hand to answer questions and help me through different tasks.
Culture
The general atmosphere and culture is a largely positive one, everyone I've met has been really nice and people from other teams have been very welcoming to talk to and easy to learn from.
Your Impressions
I've really enjoyed it.
