Overview
This role entails working with the UK dealerships and their marketing teams to ensure they are reaching their targets and producing high quality client events. A main responsibility is also managing KPIs for the wider Europe Region. This role has a high level of involvement with larger Regional events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed and Salon Privé which is an exciting perk of the role, being able to attend country renowned car shows and assisting dealerships with their strategy ahead of the events. No two days are the same and daily tasks are incredibly varied. Routine tasks on a weekly/monthly basis include KPI tracking, monthly marketing calls with dealerships, working with the fleet team to book and calendarise movements and using the CRM platform to monitor data and results from a range of events and campaigns.
Skills
This role has enhanced all of my skills and has given me perspective on my strengths and weaknesses. A standout takeaway for me personally, is my interest of marketing data and insights. Before taking on this role I shied away from anything 'mathsy' or involving figures and graphs. However when applied to a context that interests me like client insights and sales results, this became incredibly enjoyable. This ultimately helped widen my skillset and developed my ability to interrogate and analyse data - an area I would consider a previous weakness. On the flipside, I have always been a creative and imaginative person and have always viewed this as a key strength of mine. This role has allowed this to flourish, especially from an events and strategic perspective. This made me realise that even though my creativity was already a strong skill, applying skills in different contexts (i.e. industries/companies/projects) can develop them even further.
Responsibilities
Yes. My role grew in responsibility as I settled in and got involved in more and more projects. A highlight was when I was given the responsibility to manage an event independently for the first time. I was given support where required, however my manager ensured I was given full control and ownership over the event. This enabled me to cover the full spectrum of strategic brainstorming, to managing suppliers, to working live at the event and developing a summary and data breakdown of the results and takeaways.
Support & Guidance
You are surrounded by a very supportive and encouraging team. The company culture strikes a great balance of independent work/responsibility and teamwork and cross-functional support. As an intern, you are given a lot of help and support at the beginning when you are settling in to the company, and as you progress you are left more to steer your internship yourself and get involved in different projects/departments off your own back.
Culture
The company culture at RRMC is incredibly friendly and welcoming. It is a corporate set up, therefore it remains a serious environment, however this does not take away from the positive outlook on work.
Your Impressions
