  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • During my internship, I actively contributed to various aspects of farm management, farm agency and client engagement. I created detailed pitch reports, attended farm pitches, and conducted valuations of multiple farms. I interacted directly with clients, crafted professional brochures, and utilized software like Land App. Additionally, I walked the boundaries of numerous farms to guide clients and developed extensive Excel documents to present data and organize images.

  • Yes, I've learned a lot of new skills and improved my existing ones. I've become proficient in using Land App for managing and valuing farms, and I've gotten better at data analysis by working extensively with Excel. My communication skills have also improved through direct interactions with clients, attending farm pitches, and creating brochures. Overall, this experience has helped me become more confident in client engagement, farm management, and presenting data clearly.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, I was given a significant amount of responsibility during my internship. I was trusted to create detailed pitch reports and brochures, conduct farm valuations, and interact directly with clients. Additionally, I used specialized software like Land App and managed extensive data through Excel. I also led clients on boundary walks of numerous farms, ensuring they had a comprehensive understanding of the properties. This level of responsibility helped me develop my skills and gain confidence in my abilities.

  • I received a balanced amount of support and guidance during my internship. While I was given considerable independence to handle tasks such as creating pitch reports, valuing farms, and interacting with clients, there was always someone available to offer assistance and advice when needed. This approach allowed me to develop my skills and confidence while knowing I had a supportive team to back me up when necessary.
