    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My time as a summer intern at PwC has been an enriching and rewarding experience, largely due to the incredible people I've had the pleasure of working with. The firm's culture is built on a foundation of friendliness and support, which was evident from day one. Colleagues at all levels were approachable and always ready to lend a hand, creating an environment where I felt comfortable and encouraged to grow. One of the most significant aspects of my internship was the nurturing atmosphere that allowed me to overcome my fear of making mistakes. This was crucial in my professional development, as it enabled me to take on challenges with confidence and learn from any errors without apprehension. The scope of my responsibilities was impressively diverse. I had the opportunity to contribute to various business lines, including private business and research and development. This variety ensured that my experience was not only educational but also engaging, as I was never confined to a single area of work. Client engagement was another highlight of my internship. Being actively involved with clients kept my days filled with meaningful work, eliminating any concerns about idle time. This direct exposure to client interactions was invaluable and provided a realistic glimpse into the fast-paced nature of professional services. Social events organized by the firm added another layer to my internship experience. A standout memory was attending the Hamilton horse racing event, which was an absolute delight. It was not only a fantastic way to unwind but also a perfect setting to bond with colleagues and build lasting relationships. Volunteering at the RSPB Lochwinnoch was another memorable experience. It offered a unique opportunity to step outside the office, contribute to the community, and further connect with my peers in a different setting. These social and volunteering events were more than just leisure activities; they were integral to understanding the firm's values and the importance it places on work-life balance and community involvement. In summary, my summer internship at PwC has been a multifaceted journey filled with learning, personal growth, and community engagement. The firm's commitment to creating a supportive and dynamic work environment has made a lasting impression on me and has undoubtedly set the bar high for my future professional endeavors.
