Overview
i am a key contributor to dug development and supply and supporting scientists and clinicians in the areas of medicine discovery, design, and analysis of clinical trials. Key responsibilities include advising on trial design, providing statistical analysis, and understanding statistical methodology.
Skills
throughout the year i have learnt new skills such as R and SAS, whilst developed existing skills related to pubic speaking, presenting, teamwork and communication.
Responsibilities
whilst I was accountable for certain parts of a project support and help were always available if I needed to help to support me with my responsibilities. some of my responsibilities included redesigning webpages and others would include assisting in trial design.
Support & Guidance
I was provided with excellent support during my placement not only from GSK but also my University through my placement Tutor. I would meet regularly with my Line manager as well as key stakeholders to support me with my wellbeing and project work.
Culture
Company culture and general atmosphere were positive, the company values were clear but supportive of its workers through performance with choice. I found everyone I interacted with at GSK very friendly.
Your Impressions
whilst I recognize the ups and downs throughout my placement journey, my experience has been extremely positive and I enjoyed my time at GSK
Yes
My advice is that its not necessarily about what you know but actually your passion, willingness to learn and motivations that are important.
