Overview
Assisting on different projects in different markets serviced by the RMS Business Unit of the Risk Line of Service at PwC. On a day to day I worked with Google Suite, Microsoft Office and VSCode.
Skills
I have learnt many new hard skills in Excel, Python, Word, Google Calendar and Powerpoint. I have also developed many of my soft skills, bettering my communication teamwork, efficiency and professionalism.
Responsibilities
I was given a significant amount of responsibility. Since I was put onto real external projects, the work I was doing has actual leverage on PwC as a company and their reputation.
Support & Guidance
We had a great support and guidance system through the internship. Every Intern has a Buddy, Career Coach, and Engagement Leader, all trying to make sure you have enough work to do, support to actually complete the work, and a way of monitoring your progress over the internship.
Culture
The environment at PwC was amazing. Could not speak more highly of it. I had over 40 meetings with staff members over my 4 weeks there and everyone was happy to speak to me. The culture of the company has a real focus on people. Everyone here is talented in their work but also great people.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my internship a significant amount. Usually on internships a company will make you do meaningless admin work that ends up being repetitive tasks over and over again. At PwC it was the complete opposite. I was doing different things most days and enjoyed the whole time I was here. My only complaint would be that it was not long enough.
Yes
I would advise you to make sure your applications are concise but get your point about yourself across. I would also say in the Assessment Centre make sure you are open and confident and are trying to display signs of leadership, courage, and intelligence.
