    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I am working within the Rural department, alongside the Valuation, Management, and Food and Farming teams. The majority of my work is valuation based assisting with valuation inspections, calculations and analysis, and reporting. Additionally, Management property inspections and reports are also a factor of my weekly tasks. Daily interactions are both internally with colleague's and externally with clients and other professionals.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • The role requires strong communication skills with internal colleagues and external professionals and clients. Therefore, my interpersonal skills have positively developed during my internship at Savills. Additionally, the ability to independently manage and prioritise tasks to meet required deadlines for colleagues has been a beneficial development.

  • I received support and guidance from all colleague's within the office during my internship which enabled me to settle in quickly and it also enhanced my learning opportunities.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture and atmosphere was great. I very quickly felt apart of the team and I found it a great environment to work and learn.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I very much enjoyed my internship due to not only the colleagues I worked alongside but also Savills as a company. The graduate team were extremely supportive and I found the departmental overviews and networking events highly beneficial.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Savills
  • I would advise applicants to be themselves and ensure they express their interests and what makes them unique. Additionally, I would advise all non-cognate students not to view the non-cognate route as a disadvantage.
