Overview
Worked in the Investment Management team on a range of real client projects, also attending fund meetings to gain industry-specific knowledge. Gained exposure to different parts of the business, such as Financial Planning and Private Client Tax through meetings and talks with colleagues.
Skills
Confidence and ability to navigate the working environment, and also really developed my presentational skills in the end of internship investment project.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given hands-on responsibility from day one, contributing towards client proposals and attending client meetings which enabled me to experience day-to-day investment management responsibilities
Support & Guidance
Plenty! Through every step of the way I have been given so much guidance and support, even before the internship began the recruitment team was supportive of any needs I had. Everyone is so friendly and the environment is so supportive which allowed me to ask questions to anyone
Culture
Super friendly! Everyone is there for you if you have any questions or concerns. My team took the time to go through things in depth with me and supported me throughout the internship
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship. I previously hadn't had much exposure to the industry and this gave me a real insight into what a career would be like and I now know I want to go into this sector in the future so have really benefited from my time at Evelyn.
Yes
Evelyn Partners work with GAIN (Girls are Investors Network) to encourage and support more women into joining the industry. I applied through the scheme and then completed the interview process with Evelyn, and one piece of advice I have is to just be yourself!
