The Role
An interesting job that has certainly helped develop many transferrable skills - would thoroughly recommend it.
Team were always very happy to assist / answer questions when in need of help - good atmosphere around the office in general.
Regular one to one's were held with personal development plans put in place and 360 feedback completed to review performance - manager's are always looking to develop you to the best of your ability.
Initially not very, however as the year went on and i learnt how to undertake different functions relating to my role, the work level increased considerably.
Once you've undergone the training and have some experience you're treated like a regular employee, which is great for those who are actually looking for some real work experience.
I think it will be invaluable to my final year as well as attending graduate job interviews to have had a year's work experience in an office role.
The Company
Good atmosphere around the office - open plan office definitely helps give a more social feel.
Full 3 week induction upon arrival as well as monthly meetings with a member of the placement team to make sure everything was going okay as well as organise courses/workshops for further development.
Put on a resort trip to experience the product on top of a number of different course and workshops that were organised so i would say to a high level!
Subsidised Canteen
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The Culture
Not around the palcements, however that isn't the placement scheme's fault at all and shouldn't put anyone off applying. Even if you don't get on with the rest of the placements there's still a lot of opportunities to socialise with other colleagues out of work.
Luton is cheap, but for a reason.
There's a mix of bars and a couple of nightclubs but are all fairly primitive. This once again shouldn't put people off applying as there's a variety of places down the trainline like St Albans, and even London is only 40 mins away!
Variety of different events organised such as rounders/work olympics, as well as Optimus Primus the legendary work football team.
