Overview
The Marketing Role at ProspectSoft is varied and differs from day-to-day. I regularly get the opportunity to write and publish blogs, build written campaigns, and write case studies. I have also been able to take a leading role in the commercial recruitment process. I have reviewed CVs, conducted telephone interviews, and organised three on-site assessment centres.
Skills
I have learnt how to write for a variety of different audiences, learnt more about SEO, and gained a lot of experience with Moz and Google Analytics. I have also honed my communicative skills through networking at professional events.
Responsibilities
Over the course of my placement, I have been given the same level of responsibility as the rest of my colleagues. I have been able to complete tasks independently and use new applications that I’m not yet familiar with. I believe this has prepared me for my future endeavours at university and into the working world.
Support & Guidance
Whilst being allowed to complete important projects independently, I have always been given support by my manager and colleagues across the company. I always feel comfortable asking questions or speaking about anything that is concerning me. There are also regular meetings with my manager to ensure I feel supported in my role.
Culture
The atmosphere at ProspectSoft is friendly and sociable! As ProspectSoft is an SME, the company culture is close-knit and welcoming – especially towards the new placements. Everyone is happy to get involved in social activities and being part of The Access Group, there are plenty of opportunities to meet professionals from different industries.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my placement year at ProspectSoft and I can’t believe that it’s already coming to an end. Being part of the Marketing team has taught me so much about how businesses function in the real world. I can’t wait to apply the knowledge I’ve gained here, to my studies later on. I’ve also had the chance to meet so many new friends which has been wonderful!
