Data & AI Analyst Intern Review

My role as a Data & AI Consulting Intern at Deloitte involved a mix of technical and interpersonal tasks. I used Dataiku for data analysis on a Rolls Royce project, requiring client communication. I supported my project manager, participated in a case study on mental health initiatives, and proactively sought personal development opportunities, like networking and designing a data science hackathon. This internship provided a well-rounded experience, blending analytical skills with real-world business challenges.

I significantly developed my data analysis skills using Dataiku, particularly in data wrangling, feature engineering, and S-curve modeling. I strengthened my communication skills, both through client interactions and presenting my work to senior stakeholders. The SVS case study honed my collaborative problem-solving abilities and emphasized the importance of adapting my thinking approach based on the task at hand.

I was entrusted with significant responsibility throughout my internship. I independently managed data analysis tasks for the Rolls Royce project and I was given a lot of freedom for creativity and exploration of the data on this task. I was also given a lot of responsibility in a PD opportunity which involved creating a hackathon activity for university students which involved a lot of creative thinking and freedom to create my own ideas.

I was given a large amount of support by my team in Consulting North in Manchester. My buddy, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was extremely supportive, always offering help and checking that I am comfortable with work and the environment. The rest of the team in Manchester have been super friendly and encouraging when it came to opportunities within Deloitte and the community.

The Manchester office had a welcoming and supportive culture. Colleagues at all levels were approachable and invested in my growth. I especially appreciated the focus on aligning projects with personal interests, like the data science hackathon, which allowed me to combine my passions with Deloitte's goals. This created a positive and motivating environment.

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Deloitte. The combination of challenging projects, supportive colleagues, and opportunities for personal growth made for an incredibly rewarding experience. I particularly valued the client interaction, the chance to develop my data analysis skills, and the exposure to diverse aspects of consulting.
