    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My day includes greeting customers who are both collecting and returning their rental vehicles. Being at the airport this is often for customers on holiday or for business trips. We work to give 10/10 customer service and ensure we have as many cars on rent as possible.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Since working here my customer service skills have improved as well as my confidence and time management. During peak periods we can have extremely busy days so it’s important we’re organised and stay on top of everything. The job is customer focused so good customer service is always the priority.

  • I’ve had a lot of responsibility here, being offered to run shifts to help prepare me for managing in the future. The company pushes all employees to their best ability as it aims for everyone to be a manager within 2 years.

  • I’ve received a lot of support here and enjoy working with my team. Every month we have 1 to 1 meetings with a manager to go over everything and receive support where needed.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The hours can vary as the airport requires slightly unsociable hours. However the team is positive and ensures everyone gets an even share of early/late shifts, and these can be swapped when needed.

  • I have enjoyed my placement as my team have been welcoming and enjoyable to work with. The branch has team building events monthly, helping the team to bond. The branch is supportive and offered help where needed

  • The job can have long hours due to being in an airport, however the managers appreciate hard work and will let people start late the next day if they’ve stayed longer. The teams here are very supportive so as long as you have a positive attitude there’s nothing to worry about
