Overview
Day to day - post the first week of introductions and training included me working at the client site. I would get there by 9am, and leave for 5.30. The work i would do in the first week trypically included admin and meeting setting. As time went on, the manager intrusted me with more technical and client focus work, although at no point did i speak directly with the client. I also continued my online training throughout the process.
Skills
Yes, many. From a people standpoint, I have understood more the importance of communication in a great team. The team i worked with was very efficient with there work, and much of that centred around how well and timely they spoke to each other. From a techical standpoint. My skills and knowledge of critical audit software such as Aura and conncet has improved greatly, and I am grateful for that, and to the manager [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] for teaching me.
Business Insight
PwC, and the PwC network is vey diverse in its variety and knowledge. On the first day we were able to meet and speak to other candidates who worked in different parts of the interning program, such as consulting and tax. This was informative for me, since before the internship, my research was strictly on Audit, since that was my line of service. However, since then, I cant recall much education on the different roles, since it was made clear that wherever we were interning, is what our grad scheme would be as well.
Culture
Since i worked from the client site for the duration of my internship, i was only exposed to the culture and atmosphere of my team; which was great. They leaned and helped each other greatly, there was leniency where it came to toilet breaks, or phone calls. But when it was time to work, everyone understood it, and there work ethic resonated off of me as well. It was a pleasure to work with them all.
Your Impressions
The insight was great. There are skills and lesons i have learnt from my time at PwC that i will carry with me, not just for the rest of my professional career, but my life as well. Team work, communication, integrity, technical skills. I have learnt a lot, and i am grateful for the insight ive recieved from both my cohort, and the manager and PwC workers i was on during my time with the client.
Yes
Be yourself. Your integrity, knowledge and experience will shine through. The company is one that hires from a wide range of canditates, so there is no singlular way of going through. Make sure to put your best foot forward, and always be clear of your intentions. But other than that, work hard, make sure your CV, interview and other skills are up to date, since this also will set you appart in the Pwc proccess.
