Overview
As a Project Management Assistant in the Project Delivery team, I have been involved in all aspects of the business, working closely with other teams such as Onboarding, Support, and Customer Success. The role has many interactions with customers and colleagues through emails and meetings. On a day-to-day basis, my role consisted of liaising with the Technical Consultants in my team, ensuring projects were kept on track. From this, I would liaise any updates to the customers. Additionally, I have been responsible for managing new projects that come in.
Skills
Throughout the placement, there have been lots of opportunities to learn and develop new skills. I frequently spoke with my manager on how to further develop these skills. A key skill I have developed is my customer service and communication skills, whether this is through emails, telephone calls, or meetings. Also, managing and co-ordinating the consultants, I have learnt planning and organisation skills to ensure projects were completed within the timeframe. There are opportunities to develop technical skills such as our CRM and CMS solutions as well as data analysis business intelligence tools like Power BI.
Responsibilities
After the initial training in Prospect CRM and CMS solutions, I have had a plethora of responsibilities, which have increased over the placement year. I was given the responsibility to organise our consultant's sprint to ensure projects were completed within our lead times. Additionally, I was given individual responsibility for managing the Prospect Consultancy Points.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of support from my manager, team, and wider Prospect division. I had daily team meetings for me to raise any questions as well as weekly 1-2-1s with my manager to ensure I was being supported with any issues. There are lots of previous placements, who are always happy to answer any questions. My manager and team also had time to answer any questions, ensuring I understood my tasks and any information I was liaising with our customers.
Culture
The company culture at ProspectSoft is very friendly and welcoming, especially to all the new placements. All the teams work collaboratively and closely together to deliver a great customer experience. Lots of the workforce are previous placements, with some that have progressed into managerial positions, so the culture is very welcoming to placements to learn new skills and listen to other previous placement experiences.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed the 13 month long placement. The opportunities where I have learnt and developed personal and professional skills beyond university has been fantastic. The Projects Delivery team and wider Prospect division has been great to work alongside and getting to speak with the previous placement. I have also lived with some of the other placements, which has added another enjoyment to the year. I would definitely recommend applying.
