Overview
My role included the assistance in management and delivery of projects in alliance with a nuclear licensed site within in UK. Day to day responsibilities included report writing, financial management, document control, sensitive information handling, research studies
Skills
Yes, I have developed my existing soft skills and also learnt many new hard skills including excel and other Microsoft office apps. These include Primavera P6, CEMAR, Conclude. Interpersonal skills, professionalism, networking, people skills, event management logistics, time management
Responsibilities
Yes, following a period of shadowing and training in the first few months, more responsibility was handed over. This included stakeholder engagement in several projects and leading meetings with senior personnel for data gathering. I have also been tasked with report writing for client deliverables and checking/ submitting them to a high standard
Support & Guidance
The support has been strong and consistent throughout. At the start of placement, each new starter was given a buddy to shadow and ask questions to which eased my nervousness a lot. Support from more senior members was consistent throughout will regular check ins from my line manager and others at that level
Culture
Generally very positive and uplifting. The office is a smaller capacity and a very friendly atmosphere on a day to day basis. everyone has always been very supportive and driven, consistently asking if any support is needed as well as business and workload questions.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement, I have learnt more than I ever thought I would and developed my inter-personal and professional skills. I have met many amazing people who have helped me along the way
Yes
Do it, it's an amazing company with many career prospects and offices all over the world. Work is always varied. Take in as much as you can and don't be afraid to ask questions!
