Overview
The role consists of developing software used internally and for external clients. Work throughout the day involves picking up tickets to work on, writing code to make the feature or fixing a bug. Additionally you collaborate with other programmers to innovate a desirable solution to a problem.
Skills
Yes, I've been able to work on my communication skills to peers, as well as improve my coding skills through working on unseen projects such as Web Dev using React and Blazor. This being my first internship allowed me to learn how to work in an office environment, learning crucial communication skills.
Responsibilities
The internship wasn't for that long so I wasn't able to work on external projects, but I was fully responsible for developing code that would not break and/or cause issues for the internal project.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support, they assigned a mentor to the interns so they could look over what and how we were doing, essentially allowing to ease us into the working environment.
Culture
The general atmosphere was very chill, this allowed for stress-free work, allowing for meaningful work to be achieved throughout the working day. They do loads of team building and morale events to keep the employees engaged so they really value employee satisfaction.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it very much, it was exciting to be able to work on something new which allowed me to develop my skill set.
Yes
Make sure you can be able to talk about yourself well, like most companies as well as being good technically (e.g. good coding skills), they want you to be able to talk about who you are as a person well.
