Overview
On a day-to-day basis, my role revolves around managing the B/S/H Academy, our Learning Management System (LMS). This includes creating and adding new content to the LMS, ensuring that our learners have access to a wide range of training materials. I take pride in curating relevant and engaging content that helps our employees enhance their skills and knowledge. In addition to content management, I am responsible for tracking and supporting learners. This involves troubleshooting any technical issues they may face and providing them with the necessary access to the LMS. I strive to ensure a seamless learning experience for our employees by promptly addressing any challenges they encounter. As part of my role, I also have the opportunity to deliver training sessions. This includes conducting face-to-face sessions at our Milton Keynes office or customer showrooms, where I interact directly with learners and facilitate engaging learning experiences. Additionally, I conduct virtual training sessions, both live and recorded, allowing employees to participate from anywhere and at their own pace. Company inductions are another important aspect of my role. I take pride in designing and delivering comprehensive induction programs that introduce new employees to our organization's values, culture, and processes. This helps them feel welcomed and equipped to contribute to our company's success. Filming and editing are also part of my responsibilities. I film virtual classrooms to enhance the learning experience, continuously striving to improve my skills in this area. Furthermore, I act as a host for visitors to our showrooms. I ensure that they feel welcomed and provide them with a positive experience during their visit. This includes offering hospitality, answering their questions, and addressing any needs they may have. Lastly, I maintain regular communication and collaboration with various teams, including trade, brand, category, and CEJ. This allows me to stay updated on new updates and promotions, which I incorporate into our training materials to ensure our employees are well-informed.
Skills
During my placement, I have had the opportunity to learn several new skills. For instance, I have acquired proficiency in using advanced features of the learning management system (LMS), which has allowed me to effectively manage and deliver training content. Additionally, I have developed my video editing skills by learning new techniques and software, enabling me to create engaging and visually appealing training materials. These new technical skills have not only enhanced my ability to perform my current role but have also expanded my skill set for future endeavors. Moreover, I have had the opportunity to further develop my existing skills. For instance, my role requires frequent collaboration with different teams, which has strengthened my teamwork and communication skills. I have also honed my presentation skills through delivering training sessions to both small and large groups. Additionally, I have improved my problem-solving abilities by troubleshooting technical issues faced by learners and finding efficient solutions. Lastly, I've seen significant growth in my research skills and data analysis capabilities. As part of my role, I have been responsible for gathering and analyzing data related to training effectiveness, learner engagement, and feedback. Overall, my placement has provided me with valuable experiences that have allowed me to refine and apply my existing skills in a professional setting.
Responsibilities
During my placement, I was given significant responsibility in various aspects of my role. I was entrusted with managing projects independently, which involved creating and delivering training sessions, curating content for the learning management system, and overseeing the smooth functioning of the system. This level of responsibility allowed me to take ownership of my work, make decisions, and contribute to the overall success of the training initiatives.
Support & Guidance
During my placement, I received excellent support and guidance from my supervisors and mentors. They played a crucial role in helping me understand my role and responsibilities, providing clear instructions and expectations. Whenever I had questions or needed clarification, they were readily available to offer guidance and address any concerns I had. Their expertise and experience in the field were invaluable in helping me navigate challenges and make informed decisions. I appreciated their willingness to provide constructive feedback, which helped me continuously improve and grow in my role. Moreover, I was also assigned a buddy who could guide me and not let me feel lonely. I also got to attend several personal development workshops along with other interns.

Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and was highly engaged in the work assigned to me. The nature of the tasks and projects I worked on aligned with my interests and allowed me to apply my skills and knowledge. One project that stands out was creating and delivering training sessions, as it allowed me to interact with learners and witness the impact of my work firsthand. This level of interest and engagement made my placement a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
