Overview
Drafting letters, proposals, deliverable covering letters all of which I have to sign and send to the customer via email. Registering new bids on the MBDA bidding tool. A little bit of pricing bids. Extracting information from colleagues around the commercial department.
Skills
Improved writing skills for formal english in terms of letters and other proposals. Improved communication skills and learning how to chase people up Learnt how to prioritise work and creating meaningful notes for necessary info
Responsibilities
Some responsibility. Most letters or proposals that I drafted I would sign off and send putting myself as responsible or the point of contact for the customer.
Support & Guidance
Good guidance as was everyone was easy to approach and more than willing to help if they weren't overly busy. Would be better if the team had planned more work for us as interns because sometimes it would get a bit frustrating asking around for work and there's not much we are able to do.
Culture
Everyone very welcoming and easy to approach. Mental health was well respected and there's not an expectation to drive yourself into the ground. Quite the opposite. Take frequent breaks to keep yourself active and through coffee breaks.
Your Impressions
I did enjoy the placement because of the facilities and the people and I felt i did improve some of my hard skills like writing in formal english but also soft skills like being able to effectively communicate and chase people up.

Save the job description whilst applying. Have examples for your competencies. research the company and create a factfile to reference from in interviews. Try to use different examples for each type of competency question
