Overview
Working in MATLAB to run simulations of the model, writing code to generate plots and analyse the data. Additionally creating certification documents to prove the produce is satisfactory.
Skills
I have gained a lot of experience that will help my engineering degree such as writing reports, coding ability, time management and working in an office environment.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement since the first week, running through my projects from start to finish with a lot of independence, while of course getting help when it was needed by various members of the team.
Support & Guidance
I was given all the support I needed. Sometimes it was offered up front to me, mainly at the beginning of my placement, and then further on I looked for help when I needed it.
Culture
Company culture was really good, everyone is very friendly and the atmosphere feels like everyone is working together towards common objectives.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my placement. I have gained some really good skills that will help me during my final year of university and then hopefully later in life in industry. I have also really enjoyed getting to know my colleagues and think they have really helped me get the most out of the placement.
Yes
I would say don't be scared for the interview process, everyone is really helpful and want to look out for you. The early careers team are great and don't be afraid to send them an email if you have any questions. Its a competitive process but even if you don't get this placement it will help loads for applications!
