Overview
Holding technical interviews with competent professionals, writing up what they told me in a HMRC compliant manner, and/or working with the costing team in quantifying the claim through provided eligibilities, salaries and other qualifying costs.
Skills
I've massively improved my excel skills (something I've not really used much before), and developed my communication and writing skills.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was treated like any other graduate, and given the same responsibilities and projects a graduate would.
Support & Guidance
I had a buddy, coach and people leader, plus engagement managers and tech/costing leads for each of my projects, so whenever I needed help or got stuck it was easy for me to reach out as I had plenty of options to choose from. People were always happy to walk me through and explain even basic things.
Culture
A very strong team culture, where we often helped each other. In general people are friendly and easy to get along with.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it, as a comp sci student its not something I want to do long term, but it gave me a lot of opportunities to work with the big tech companies and see how software is used in a wide variety of applications
Yes
In interviews, be realistic but still helpful. Relax and try and have a friendly chat with your interviewer, you are very likely to work with them if you get in and they are often quite friendly themselves.
