  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I am an editorial secretary and my daily work involves checking in with my line manager what needs to be done and then completing the necessary tasks. Depending on what work has been submitted to us will depend on what I do. Usually I work on editing employee CVs or editing sections for upcoming bids.

  • I have developed my editing skills and the ability to write clearly and concisely. I have also developed my interpersonal skills as my role has required me to communicate with different people throughout the company.

  • Somewhat. I have been entrusted to edit documents that will be used in live bids but that has been balanced with my work being checked by a colleague.

  • The company culture was nice and welcoming. Despite having no prior experience in a job or knowing a lot about the built environment, everyone was friendly and open to helping me out with any problems I faced.

  • I have enjoyed my placement as it has given me the opportunity to try something new, working in a corporate environment. I have learned a lot from my time here and have had fun learning more about an industry that I previously knew nothing about.
