Overview
As an On Air Intern, my role was split between the Presentation Scheduling team and the Continuity/Navigation team. Tasks include creating strategic schedules for A+E channels, checking voice over artist scripts, listening to voiceovers, creating excel graphic plans. Day to day tasks also include attending meetings and liaising with other departments.
Skills
During the internship, I developed my soft skills through creating PowerPoint presentations, using excel, and also understanding how to communicate in a professional environment. Also, I learnt how to use scheduling systems such as BSS and Whatson.
Responsibilities
At A+E Networks, placement students are given equal responsibility and opportunity as other employees. I felt this role equipped me with many skills which will be useful when finding a job after University.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of guidance during my placement year, from both my own team and the HR team. The company perks and the support provided made the transition of moving to London and starting the job very smooth.
Culture
The company culture is amazing, there are lots of perks which placement students also get to enjoy. There are also lots of events and socials.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement with A+E Networks. I felt valued and appreciated and the work I completed was important. It taught me lots of useful skills which I will take with me to University and beyond.
