Overview
I was in 2 different teams. The first was Employer Solutions where they are split into Employment Tax, Expatriate Tax and, Share Schemes. I worked in teh team during January, busy season, so there were lots of expat tax returns to be done. There was the onboarding process for client including KYC checks, and engagement letters. In CT the work included companies tax returns and as each company can have a different deadline it was more steady throughout the year. As well as the KYC checks and engagement letters.
Skills
Time management skills and organisation. As you are responsible for the returns you are preparing and the progress each of them are at it was key to stay on top of it so you did not miss anything. As well as general professional skills, email writing etc.
Responsibilities
We were responsible for each client we were assigned to, so yes. Of course there were managers/ Partners who were reviewing the work, but it was our client too which was nice.
Support & Guidance
We had buddies in each team we joined alongside our managers. But there was a large intake of placements, graduates and school leavers so it was all well organised etc.
Culture
Going into the office was encouraged, so the office was busy. There were multiple socials throughout the year, including a Christmas party, fundraising events, volunteering days.
