Overview
I was in support of analysts to mainly help them to prepare pitches for our directors to present to clients. I worked on different projects for banks in CEEMEA and Benelux, but also for Asset Management firms.
Skills
I developed a lot my Excel and Powerpoint skills during this internship of 10 weeks, as well as my skills using different software such as Factset for example. Logically, I also improved my financial skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities
I was given a high exposure and responsibility since I was really in charge of the different materials presented to clients at the end. Even if usually an analyst or an associate was reviewing my work afterwards, I had to be as efficient as possible to respect the deadlines.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support since we started with 9-10 days of training before being at the office and even here, the different people of my team were always helping to try to improve myself and prepare better materials.
Culture
The culture was really positive and inclusive, we had several networking events to create real connections between each other.
Your Impressions
I really found this internship amazing and extremely formative for my professional future. This definitely allowed me to know that I want to work in this sector and in this bank in particular.
Yes
I would give different advice to people applying to Citi. First of all, my main advice is to network with people from the bank to already know what are the different values, the culture and what the job is really about. Next, I would say to really prepare the application process by having as much professional experiences as possible, a great academic performance and know the basics of finance.
